Helena Arellano Mayz
Helena Arellano Mayz loves paper and lines. Those expressed in sketches, drawings, engravings as well as the written word. She studied economics at Brown University’85. Later, engaged in photography in Caracas, and moved to France to learn printing techniques at Ècole Estienne, and Les Ateliers de la Ville de Paris. Back in Venezuela she works at Taller de Artistas Gráficos Asociados TAGA. Starts her path as a writer with a first short novel ¿Murciélago o mariposa? (2005).
Why the WHF? Because, she believes it will be the seedbed, a breeding ground for endeavours to come. It will be exciting to see them grow, the drawing flow, like a river back to the core of human beings.
